There are references about dragons in fairy tales, folklore, fiction, fantasy, and even in the bible. Slaying a dragon usually symbolizes having the courage to defeat evil. To do the right thing so good will prevail. The slayer may not want to kill but knows there is no other way. The world, something or someone has to be saved. Call it a sense of duty or just following instructions. In the end, only the result counts.
So, I am going to slay my dragon and get up from the couch.
I must be less lazy and that is asking a lot. It is not easy to put my books down. I just got my hands on a couple of good ones. And Tubi has so many classics, I’d hate to miss Hitchcock with lunch. Did I mention the couch is warm and comfy? But I know, it is the right thing to do. I have to get back to being a responsible adult.
These are not empty words, I actually already made a start today.
I wrote a draft for a book review. The goal is to get it posted coming Monday. More book reviews will follow soon.
The cute little dragon reminded me that I have an obligation as a writer. And that is to write. It is not about the word count but about the effort to sit down, open the laptop, think about the story or the post, and get the words flowing.
It is ok if it rambles, it is ok if it is not great. As long as I have words written, I can correct and make the draft better. What then follows is the result of the effort to show up at my desk, sit down, and write. And that is all that matters.

P.S.: Happy Anniversary, Kevin.
#NTT is an amazing phenomenon on WP. It is good to see so many bloggers participating to create stories from your images. They get the creative juices flowing. I am grateful for the effort you make to create them and host NTT.
On to Year Two!
Fondly,
Alice

Winter, cold, overcast, it all makes me lazy. But I need to be active, it is healthier for me. Hope you are doing well.

Feeling better than before, trying to get back into the swing of things β€οΈ I know how that is. And thank you π yes, even a bit of cold down here in FL made me feel lazy for a bit!

I love the conceptual likeness you have drawn between putting words down and cutting ‘fangs’. It does feel exactly like that sometimes. But the exaltation in producing a work you can read and say, “Perfect!” makes it immeasurably worth any amount of pain in production.

Forge forward into the New Year with strong beliefs and don’t let the potholes stop you. Love the attitude of ‘It’s ok’ It rings true to me as I look back over what I got done with a similar attitude. Good luck. πππ
